FlexiPulse – an open front-loaded core needle
The FlexiPulse needle is intended for ultrasound-guided breast biopsy and particularly well suited for technically challenging biopsies such as in axillary lymph nodes and dense breast tissue.1 The open front-loaded needle has been developed for maximum tissue yield with the least possible damage to surrounding tissue.2 In pre-clinical studies, the FlexiPulse needle has provided larger samples than current core needles. 3
Design and features:
- The outer cannula is shaped as an open, hollow front-loaded tube with a slightly sharpened inside edge.
- The inner solid part has a sharp tip.
- The needle diameter is 14G.
- The sampling chamber size is 30 mm.
- All needle functions are controlled via buttons that are activated on the hand-held driver.
CorePulse – a core needle with pulse control
CorePulse is NeoNavia’s version of a core needle with pulse control and is intended for ultrasound-guided breast biopsies. CorePulse belongs to the Core Needle Biopsy (CNB) category (read more about CNB) but differs in some important aspects such as needle insertion, placement in a suspicious lesion, and in the actual sampling situation.
Design and features:
- The inner cannula has a side-notch like other core needles.
- The outer cannula is spring-loaded.
- The needle diameter is 14G.
- The sampling chamber size is 20 mm.
- The pulses enable precise placement in the lesion.
- Sampling is automated and requires no manual spring loading.
- All needle functions are controlled via buttons that are activated on the hand-held driver.
VacuPulse – a vacuum-assisted pulse biopsy needle
VacuPulse is NeoNavia's vacuum-assisted biopsy (VAB) needle, intended for ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. VacuPule is also operated with pulse technology which enables a controlled stepwise needle insertion through the tissue and a precise placement in the lesion.
Design and features:
- The outer cannula has a side-notch.
- The inner cannula acts as a cutter.
- The needle diameter is 10G.
- The sampling chamber size is 20 mm.
- By using the vacuum function, multiple samples can be collected with a single incision. The samples are collected in a sample container at the underside of the handset.
- All needle functions are controlled via buttons that are activated on the hand-held driver.
